Hearing & Vision Screening

Vision and hearing are our two most valuable senses, the information they provide help form a bridge between our world and how we interact with it. By keeping our vision and our hearing at their best we are all able to lead our lives every day without any limitations and we highly recommend vision and hearing screenings on a regular basis.
Hearing and vision loss begins to affect quality of life in our early 40’s and greatly increases as we enter our early 60’s. Hearing empowers us and enriches our lives by enabling us to socialize, work, interact and communicate with those around us. The most common symptoms of hearing loss are the need to turn up the volume, asking comments to be repeated or having difficulty communicating in loud or crowded environments.
Because learning is mostly accomplished through the senses of vision and hearing, screenings help to identify any barriers that would impair a child’s ability to learn. Early identification and treatment can prevent or at least alleviate many of the problems that result from impaired hearing or vision. Screening is the most practical approach to identifying children in need of professional services.
If you have any questions or concerns about hearing and vision issues for you or any member of your family . . .Parkway Family Physicians are always here with the help and care you need.
